That said here’s the latest Chaos Rules 2, just finished today after about 15 hrs inking with some fineliners. I actually got twangs of pain in my bicep and hand cramp like a mofo.

I wanted to push the idea more this time and keep the skull more camouflaged hence a straight profile of the skull with no shading or curves for depth.

I can’t decide of I prefer the eyes white or how I finished them. Any ideas?

Zef Side All the Way

A lot of shit has been said about Die Antwoord over the last few years. Some good, some bad but love ‘em or hate ‘em they have created their own brand and in doing so have become the global cult movement that is zef-side.

Fok but they are lekker ([la-cka] South African slang for awesome).

They recently released their new single ‘I Fink U Freeky,’ and not only is it catchy, the music video is gritty, raw and very well art directed – by Roger Ballen & NINJA. It touches your dark side and your dark side feels good, less guilty and more free to be you. But much cooler. Haha, okay maybe it’s a bit OTT but fuck it, they have helped me see the light and although I slightly puke in my mouth when I say this, they have inspired me with their music but most of all with their originality. There is a definite edge to them and they have shocked the South African public, and the World, with their overnight success after the release of ‘Enter the Ninja,’ which was their first rap-rave tune which achieved international success.

The band is made up of Ninja, originally Max Normal, Yolandi and DJ Hiteck. Yolandi already has a growing male fan base all over the world but sadly for those guys she belongs to the Ninja himself, The god-father of Zef-side.

As cyclists we all suffer from bike envy and are never fully content on the bike we ride. There is always a better, faster or cooler bike than yours. Don’t get me wrong, I love my bike, but I love a lot of other bikes too.

A friend of mine sent me this link and it has inspired me to post blogs about cool and unusual bikes. The ones we are inspired to ride, the bikes of our aesthetic dreams and the ones that make us all incredibly envious.

This is a photo blog of the days events. We stopped occasionally to talk shop and wet our parched lips with sweet juice from the beer gods and by the end of the evening we were completely loose. It was lush.

D2G created these intricate pieces and screen printing was the way we wanted to execute these prints. The detail is bang on and surprisingly we managed to knock out quite a few with very little fuck ups.

This is a massive opportunity for MFF to get some good exposure and like with most things in life, we will need the support of our followers (friends, strangers, neighbours, talking cats) to help get us there! The top three design will be shown to Chris Nolan who will make the final decision. There are hundreds of subs and the competition ends 22 April 2012.

We actually have two submissions, the first is called Ascension and the Second is called Almost. As it stands now we have Ascension up for voting, so hopefully Almost will be hot on it’s heels. Funny that ‘Almost’ is not there yet.

The lower part of the face has naked branches in case you were wondering, flip the other way round and also looks like veins, so make whatever links you want. I like the dramatic sectioning of her face, even though it makes it look like she may be sporting a bob haircut (called something like that)
